Today I wanted to share something a little bit different.

I meet this kid when he was only 19. We both live in Chicago. I can honestly say our city has a lot of talented people. In the past, I meet plenty of producers who make nice beats, but when I listened to a Rich Rich instrumental online one day. I knew instantly the talents & personality God gave him could combine with the business like mind he has, he will one day soon be a music power house producer. At only 19 Rico knew what a plug-in & a VST was. He knew how to bus sounds into aux tracks. He understood the importance of registering your music, also what a good interface & preamp is,in order to produce that quality sound of music for the fans and consumers.
I recently got a chance to sit down with RicoSupaRich manager Spex V.O.G last week to make sure he would be open to a interview about Rico's music and up bringing in Chicago.
Chicago right now is experiencing a negative effect of gun violence. Many young black males are loosing their live because of this phenomenon. I wanted to know how does he handle the pressures that comes along with living in one of America's major city's " Chicago". Also how does he maintain focus on his music as he grows to be an exceptional business man. This year Rico Rich will be 21 & from what Spex enlighten me on, Rico studies hard & continues to grow as a young business person everyday.
I pray that most artist understand once you make the music, the fun part is over. Major corporation's makes millions of dollars from signing artist and building careers for them. Thats just business. With the technology these days like Rico stated in the interview, " You can make music and have creative control as artist & businessman in the times live in today. I not only produce the beats, I use apps & many other outlets that will assist with my business presence not only face to face, but on the internet as well. You see in this business many artist lack the concept of music vs business".
I asked Rico, "What does 30 DAYZ 30 NIGHTZ mean to him. His reply was something close to what I expected, taking in consideration how much work I witness this kid produce within just a four hour studio session he booked a week prior to the interview.
Rico replied "30 DAYZ 30 NIGHTZ represent the grind it takes to be successfully at anything. People really don't understand the amount of research it takes first before you approach the idea of making music. Not just the musical side of things but even from a writing stand point."
